Miss Yu English 12

     The theme of this poem "Packing for the Future:Instructions" by Lorna Crozier is people should prepare for their future before they are facing the oncoming new life.For instance, Lorna described "There may be water.There may be stones. There may be high places you cannot go without the hope socks bring you, the way they hold you to the earth. (stanza 2)",which shows there are some problems and achievements are waiting for them in the future. Nevertheless, if people bring hope socks( the preparedness), it will give them confidence and courage although there are some difficulties are coming. Otherwise, Lorna also described,"This is to carry that small thing you cannot leave(line 18-19)." to reveal there is something important that people can not live without although it is small. Additionally, the "small thing" represent the preparedness that people needed for their oncoming journey. All in all, people should sincerely prepare for their future since it can provides courage for them.
