The theme of this poem is talking about hope and future. People needs to put all sadness in an empty room, and leave it alone.  Find their own road, never compunction, walk and walk durning their life without any burden. For example, "you cannot go without the hope socks bring you, the way they hold you to the earth."  This means that everyone needs to take thier future and face it. There may be water in socks, there may be stones, there may be hopes from parents in that socks. Pople cannot take roads without future and hope. Get ready, hold you future, find the road and nveer back!
