The theme of this  poem "Packing for the Future: Instructions," by Lorna Crozier, is that people need other people's support and help to prepare their future. You always recieve supports from people around you. In the poem, the speaker says, "Mistrust no one who offers you water from a well, a songbird's feather, something that's been mended twice."(line11to14) This means that you should trust people who help you because they can give a wish and make effot for you. If you trust them, you will also believe that they help you when you are in difficult situation. Then you do not need to worry about hardships in your life and you can live more happily, you can "Always travel lighter than the heart."(line40,41) Therefore, the help is neccessary for your life and you should treasure it.

"Packing for the Future: Instructions", poem by Lorna Crozier, has a theme that life is a long journey and we would meet many challenges, but our strong hope and dream will help us to overcome the hardships. In the lines "Wherever you're going/ you'll have to walk," the speaker tells us that our life would not be very easy.We would go through many hardships and we would probably become tired and discouraged. Then, the poem tells us that we have to "take the thickest socks"(line1) to prepare for the hardships because "[we] cannot go without the hope socks bring [us]"(line 7-8). He also tells us to "take the dream/ [we've] been having since [we] were a child"(line 32-33). All these lines mean when we get into troubles, our strong hope and desire to reach our goal would give us courage and energy to carry on. Then we would be able to overcome all the hardships and improve our life much better. Hence, the poem "Packing for the Future: Instructions" gives the readers a message that we should be prepared enough and maintain our hope in order to go through the hardships we meet in our life.

Encouraging and telling people always be prepared for lots of troubles in the world, we will always "walking" in our life ,if we dont have" thickest socks" ,which means fully prepared ,we will get hurt ,on the other hand, this poem is like a mother care so much about her child when her child go far away from home ,the author shows her worry in the poem and encouraging her child always be prepared and teach her child life is long and complicated ,but you will always doing well, its like the hope from author to the child

In the poem, the theme is love conquers all I think.'' Take the thickest socks.Where  you are gong you will have to walk.'' There maybe water, stones, high places you can not without and the way they hold you. This indomitable lives accompany with you and they will shoe you beautiful scenery where you love and treasure them.
''In you leave room for another language." There maybe shut, painted windows and signs that warm you to be gone. Take the dream you have been have since you were a child, do not give up, and affected by difficult position, because love as  wing of you heart. It can make you fly in broad sky to look at future and bring you courage, love conquers all!

In my opinion, preparing the future is very important in your life. According to
the poem,"take the thickest sock.......there may be water. There may be stones. There may be high place you cannot go without  the hope socks  bring you, the why they hold you to the earth." this two stanzas have significative words. The word " socks" symbolize your part of preparation for future which help you all the time; The " water " symbolize the difficult stuff and "high places" symbolize your  goals, but you can not reach. connecting all the symbols, we can know that life is a trek, future is griped by you. You will meet a lots difficult stuff, so you have to bing sock for preparing your future. All in all, the theme of this poem is true, the future should be prepared.  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

In this poem, i think this poem talk about growing up. the family power, the memory and the choice, affect the growing.in the future, not only the family power butalso the memory is affect.and evertime be ready to sadness, maybe one the person will sad beready will not have big letdown. ni matter at what time, no matter at where, no matter what cause, the family will support you forevery. some time in outside give somebody some choice, believe them. trust this world is beautyful. i think this  poem theme is "give hope to the future"

The theme of the poem is that teenagers are expected to prepare enough before going to travel, especially "thickest socks" and "leather satchel" because they can offer help when teenagers are confronting trouble.

For example, "There may be water. There ma be stones. There may be high places/you cannot go without the hope socks bring you, the way they hold you to the earth" in stanza 2.

Thus, the speaker used imagery words like "water,""stones,""high places,""socks" and "earth" to display that although "water" makes the traveler wet, "stones" lead him or her to feel hurt, and "high places" cause the traveler's "sock" to become flimsy, the traveler still walks on "earth." These imagery words represent that the teenagers, who have decided to travel outside for achieving their dreams, should always insist on their dreams and keep their hope, so that no hardship can make them stop their steps.

Another example is "Take a leather satchel" in line 15.

Hence, the speaker used "leather satchel" to symbolize that the teenagers having lots of hope is not enough. Instead, they also need enough preparation, particularly with their mind.

Last example is "In you bag leave room for sadness, leave room for another language" in line 26 and 27.

Thus, it means that the traveler should prepare enough braveness to face sadness in the future, and to have been taught enough and trained enough.
